Honeywell Center Holiday Banner Contest

We are beginning Holiday Banners.  The following information is important to know, especially if your student brings home the banner to complete.

Theme:  Students will design a banner with the theme “Colors of the Holiday Season.”  This could include imagery of Santa, stockings, outdoor scenes, gifts, holiday candies and cookies, Christmas trees, candles, wreaths, and anything else that is associated with the Holiday season.

Size:  Banner designs must be created on 7.5” x 15” cardstock or paper.

Color:  Banners must be colored boldly with marker, colored pencil, paint, etc.  Light colors do print well, and are often not chosen as winners because of this.

Winners:  Ten winners from MIS will be chosen to have designs displayed in the Honeywell Center Wilson Gallery.  Those winners will be recognized at a banquet in November (details to follow).  Some of those winners could be selected to have their designs made into banners that hang in town or into Christmas cards.

Due DateAll finished banner designs must be in Mrs. Burnworth’s hands by Thursday, September 27th.

QualityBanners must be neat, absolutely no bends or tears.  Banners must be original, designs can be inspired by something else, but must be your own.
